Law of collaboration

Hi,

This was time for me to post something very interesting. In my job, we work as operators, and also as provider. The providing part is where I meet the most colourful people – Sadly, not in the best of ways. We had to deliver an API for that somewhat successful company, medium sized, to try to fit their needs up. (API means Application programming interface)

In a week, we constructed, developed and implemented that particular API, and delivered it to our client. The technical director of this particular client (A guy that has a company in his own surname, with a picture of himself on his website.. well.. you can already figure that will not end positively !) came back with comments about it, which is understandable.

However, again, the way and views expressed in email by that particular individual are actually the downfall of himself. I tried to see when I actually stopped reading his message, as it’s just plain insulting and stupid.

On around 60 lines written, after the 3 first lines, it’s just an unbearable lack of respect.

So sadly, as I told the CEO in this case, it will be just impossible to work with these guys, and that particular person. The relation client / provider should of course be the provider giving what is wanted, or at least to do it’s best. However, the client side of things should remember that providers are also humans ? I am really quite tired of this BS (You know what it stands for), that we are in a very competitive environment, that we need to want more and more.

The end of the story is that by disrespecting others, you tend to disrespect yourself, and isolate yourself. Believe me, a few are successful, but many are not, and will finish professionally (and personally from what i noticed) all alone.

I will not tolerate this, and choose the clients I work for based this very important criteria.

On this beautiful note, please enjoy your day !
