Apple event – marketing, marketing and more… marketing

Here we are again, to an Apple event !

Really, what I actually learnt from this one, basically is how Apple are good at Marketing.

Checking their website, Apple store was getting updated in real time, Live video streaming (and if you didn’t run Safari, no live streaming), a bunch of “Google glass like vignettes”, which were telling you exactly what was happening. It was like it was everywhere, in a huge media storm. The world was Apple !

Thankfully, I was at work while it all unfolded, and decided to go home (small 15 minutes jog). Arrived home, I could notice that news channels were talking about the usual ISIS issue in Syria, some British government scandal, and a model dog death (poor puppy) !

So yes.. Marketing, marketing and marketing. One thing to give Apple is that they have hired some pretty good marketing Genius ! They catch you with excitement, and push you to consume.

On the products now.. Apple Watch of course, which might at some point replace my LG Android wear (If I buy the IPhone 6 that must come with it). Sadly 18 hours battery life, is a lot less than my 20 hours a day of crazy work (4AM until midnight indeed !). It would seem that Android Wear, its battery, and the fact that it is cheaper will do for me, at least for now. We will see on April 24th, when Apple watch will be out (Price starting around $500).

The new Mac book [air]. Now, thats a great and beautiful piece of technology. Not that my actual Mac book air (2009) is bad, but this time it’s a beautiful and new product (of course silver/gold, new trademark of Apple), and the fact that it’s fan-less. (I don’t really hear the noise of my MacBook honestly).

It should be available from tomorrow (April 10th), at around $1200-$1500 – That might be a good buy.

The rest didn’t really matter to me : these 2 products are the summary from what i watched of the Apple sprint keynote.

But really, If there is something I am jealous for is the way that Apple conducted their marketing. It all has been a great lesson of mass marketing, across all channels, making you feel excited, and driving you to their online shop. Only Apple really knows how to do it.
