Good bye Adelina Enache

A small farewell for one of my old friends. As she was in love with social networks and no privacy, i hope she wouldn’t have minded.

My friend passed away last week, from it seems acute pneumonia, after a lot of antibiotic treatment. This lady, from an eastern country was in her 25th year of life, from African origin. Too early to be gone. This is mostly what i know from a few chats we had over the years. She contracted the fatal illness a month ago, and spent most of last month in hospital, trying to fight the sickness. Sadly, as during her last weeks she was in a coma.I didn’t have the time to say Good Bye.

Most importantly, Adelina Enache (if you read Romanian her website is here : http://www.zadeline.com) was one of the most proactive social marketer in Romania to this day. She had an opinion on anything that had to do with public relationship, and was on all the important social networks : Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare (Ok, not that important.), Google Plus, and many more.

My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Over the years, we have all lost friends and family. This is part of life and this is what makes life so intense and beautiful as many poets would say.

One thing however that I feel is missing on the internet, is the possibility to show an heritage of our consciousness (even a little part of it) after our passing, to our kids, family and friends. Facebook, Twitter and hosting places will all go after some time, or stay still forever – they partly show what we wanted to show (you shining, my oversized ego, …). Wikipedia however would show the history of famous people, written by unknown others. I believe anyone should have his own data warehouse filled by himself, of his opinions, knowledge, feelings, hobbies, good and bad times. And moreover, this data should be queried by anyone that has an interest. (Not many people would be interested to query my knowledge to be honest – mostly family i guess, to know my secrets !)

Imagine this – A way to query me when I’m not anymore available : What would you ask ?

My nephew would probably ask me why i kept being nice when he was wanting me to die.
(Let’s hope he ever asks for that !)

Some of you would probably ask me “Why news of the internet ?”
(News of the world .. all about it really…)

Let’s not go sci-fi and think that it would actually be a complete copy of consciousness – but who knows what the future will bring ?

I quite hope that at some point, this kind of products (professionally made) to be available as it is something i would be personally looking for).

End of this small crazy idea.

Again I would just say to end this article, with a lot of sadness :

Please rest in peace Adelina – As you would say “La revedere”. (11/05/12)
